Liverpool will be frontrunners to sign Mason Mount this summer if he can't agree a new Chelsea contract... with the England star among Jurgen Klopp’s top midfield targets, along with Jude Bellingham and Matheus Nunes

Liverpool will be frontrunners in the race to sign Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount this summer if the 24-year-old is unable to agree a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

Mount - who has been with the Blues since the age of six - is yet to extend his deal with the club ahead of it expiring in the summer of 2024.

Sportsmail previously reported how there is a contract stand-off between Mount and Chelsea as a significant gap exists between the parties in negotiations.

The England international - who has been the club's Player of the Year during the last two campaigns - is believed to want to treble his £80,000-a-week wages, which would put him in line with the other senior players and new signings.
