Liverpool still assessing Rhian Brewster's ankle ligament injury after defeat by Manchester City Under-23s

Liverpool are still assessing the injury England Under-17 World Cup-winning striker Rhian Brewster sustained in the under-23s' defeat to Manchester City.

The 17-year-old was carried off at the end of the first half in the 3-2 loss on Friday before being taken to hospital, and it is understood he has ankle ligament damage.

However, there is no indication yet whether the teenager will require an operation.
