Liverpool stars including Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jordan Henderson take on England's Moeen Ali and James Anderson in cricket vs football challenge ahead of Ashes series

An early-morning kick-about has become a staple part of England's warm-up ahead of the day's play of a Test match.

But before this winter's Ashes series Down Under Moeen Ali and Jimmy Anderson travelled to Melwood to take on a football challenge of a different sort.

Last month on Merseyside, the two England stars met Liverpool players Joe Gomez, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jordan Henderson and James Milner for some games that combined the skills of both sports.

Before getting started, Ali and Anderson were introduced to members of the Reds squad and manager Jurgen Klopp, who confessed: 'I can't get (cricket), I don't know who wins!
