Trent Alexander-Arnold's mum 'started crying' when she found out the Liverpool defender was making his Premier League debut at Old Trafford last weekend.
The 18-year-old was drafted in as a late replacement after first choice right back Nathaniel Clyne picked up an injury.
The academy product gave as good as he got as the Reds were denied all three points by a late Zlatan Ibrahimovic equaliser for Manchester United.
But his pride at making his league bow for his boyhood club was nothing compared to the emotion his mum displayed.
