Luis Diaz is poised to give Liverpool a huge boost ahead of their defining week by returning to first team training.
The Colombia international has not played since damaging knee ligaments in a 3-2 defeat at Arsenal last October. He was expected to be sidelined for three months but, during a winter training camp in Dubai, he suffered a reoccurrence and ruled out for a further 14 weeks.
Liverpool have missed Diaz, who was a revelation last season following his £50million switch from FC Porto – his arrival was the catalyst for a prolonged spell of outstanding form that almost carried the team to a Quadruple.
