Liverpool should have signed Brentford striker Ivan Toney instead of Darwin Nunez this summer, according to Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony.
Bees talisman Toney spent two years with the League One outfit, scoring 49 times in 94 games for Posh before joining Thomas Frank's side in 2020 for an initial £5million fee, potentially rising to £15m with add-ons.
He has since excelled in west London, scoring 52 times in 96 games, which has included five in six this season, leading to strong calls for Toney to be called-up to the England squad.
