Liverpool ready to reward Diogo Jota with bumper new contract for his stunning form... with Jurgen Klopp keen to tie down striker after Mohamed Salah signed new deal

Liverpool are progressing in talks over a new contract for striker Diogo Jota.

The 25-year-old is due back in training within a fortnight after aggravating a hamstring injury last month.

Jota still has three years to run on the contract he signed upon joining the Reds in 2020 from Wolves for £45million.

Liverpool striker Diogo Jota scored 21 goals and provided eight assists last season

The Portugal international scored 21 goals and made eight assists to help his side win the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, as well as reach the Champions League final.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has vowed to rotate his front three more regularly given the quality of options available with Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Roberto Firmino, Luis Diaz and Jota.
