Liverpool must be realistic with Larouci after high-profile prospects' flameouts

Numerous reports this week suggest that Liverpool have won the race to sign France youth international star Yasser Larouci from Le Havre. But supporters won't be overly excited about the 16-year-old's arrival given what happened to the last talented youngsters they signed from the Ligue 2 side.

Anthony Le Tallec and his cousin Florent Sinama-Pongolle had been much hyped before they finally arrived at Anfield in the summer of 2003. The deal that brought the pair to Merseyside had been completed two years earlier by then-boss Gerard Houllier, but the pair remained at Le Havre to continue their development.
