Liverpool have asked about Napoli left-back Faouzi Ghoulam after rejecting an £11million offer from the Italian club for Alberto Moreno.
Ghoulam, a France-born Algeria international, has been discussed before at Liverpool but is understood to have re-emerged as a possible option in conversations between the two clubs.
He was signed for Napoli by Rafa Benitez who beat off competition from Chelsea and Manchester City at the time in 2014.
Moreno is available for transfer but Liverpool want £15m for the 24-year-old who they signed for £12m from Sevilla three years ago.
