Van den Berg currently plies his trade at Eredivisie side PEC Zwolle, and has also won three caps for Netherlands U19.
Much like Virgil van Dijk and Matthijs de Ligt he is yet another talented Dutch centre back defender, and although he is unlikely to break into the Liverpool first-team straight away if he signs, he would certainly be an interesting young player to watch out for in the coming years.
But the Champions League winners will face stiff competition for the signature of van den Berg. Serie A side Sampdoria reportedly bid €2.5m for the player in January, while other elite clubs could well enter the race for the signing such is his potential.
