Liverpool hero Dirk Kuyt announces retirement from football just days after winning Eredivisie title with Feyenoord

Dirk Kuyt has announced his retirement from football just days after winning the Eredivisie with boyhood club Feyenoord.

The former Liverpool striker capped off his career by securing the title ahead of bitter rivals Ajax, scoring a hat-trick as his side confirmed a first championship in 18 years.

Kuyt also represented Holland and played in the Champions League for the Reds during his time as a player.
