Liverpool went 1-0 down for the ninth time in the Premier League this season. That statistic can be countered by the fact they had come back to win five of the previous five, drawing two and only losing once. But it is worrying nevertheless.
These slow starts could cost Liverpool dearly, with them not really playing at their best in at the beginning of a few other matches, too. Arsenal punished Liverpool’s early sloppiness here as they had a decent chance inside the first minute and then led after four minutes.
It is in contrast to the first great Jurgen Klopp team in England, who often made electric starts to matches.
