Liverpool are sweating on the ankle injury that could rule Joe Gomez out of their Champions League clash with Manchester City.
Gomez should have been in contention to face Italy at Wembley but he was sent back to Melwood for treatment on the injury he sustained in the 10th minute of Friday's friendly against Holland, which England won 1-0.
There are fears that Gomez could be ruled out for up to four weeks, which would leave him sidelined for both legs of the quarter-final against Pep Guardiola's team, as well as the Merseyside derby against Everton at Goodison Park on April 7.
