Andrea Ranocchia could be forced out of the Inter Milan exit door after failing to establish himself in the first-team squad.
The 28-year-old has slipped down the pecking order at the San Siro, making just one league appearance for Frank de Boer's side so far this season.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp made enquiries for the defender back in January but Rannocchia remained in Serie A.
However, according to Calciomercato, the Italy international is now deemed surplus to requirements at Inter and will be shipped out in the January window.
It's unclear whether or not Liverpool will mount a sustained bid to land Rannocchia, with Torino and Sampdoria also interested parties.
