That’s the damning verdict of former Anfield goalkeeper Chris Kirkland, who insists their defensive fragility will cost them any hope of silverware.
The Reds have kept only two clean sheets in all competitions so far this season, and Kirkland insists it’s simply not good enough.
“If they keep defending the way they are at the minute they’ve got no chance [of winning the title],” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast. “The goals they are conceding are far too easy. Going forward, yes, they’ve got the talent to score goals, but if they keep defending like they are, they’ve got no chance.
