A man has been banned from football and hit with a community order after he launched a glass bottle at Manchester United’s team bus as it made its way to Anfield.
Lewis Cleary, 23, was convicted of causing criminal damage after he was found to have hurled a cider bottle at the vehicle which was carrying Erik ten Hag and his players to their clash with Liverpool in December.
At Sefton Magistrates, Cleary, of Langove Street, Liverpool, was given a three-year football banning order and ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.
