Liverpool defender Joel Matip plays 60 minutes for U23s after getting green light by FIFA to play again following Cameroon Africa Cup of Nations row

Joel Matip got an important 60 minutes under his belt for Liverpool Under 23s on Sunday in their 3-0 Premier League Cup victory over Ipswich Town.

Matip was given the green light to play again on Friday after FIFA dismissed the case against the defender following his dispute with the Cameroon Football Federation.

Jurgen Klopp named the centre back among his substitutes for Saturday's Premier League defeat by Swansea, with Matip coming on in the 89th minute.
