Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has recounted harrowing stories from his childhood as a refugee in war-torn Bosnia.

The centre-back, born in the former Yugoslavia, was only three years old when the conflict broke out and he and his family were forced to flee to Germany.

In a documentary aired on Wednesday night on LFCTV, the 27-year-old recalls how he and his family drove 17 hours to Munich to seek refuge with his grandfather.
