Liverpool are running the risk of losing Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, as the 29-year-old enters the latter stages of his contract at Anfield.
While Jurgen Klopp's side have recently extended a series of deals for first team stars, Wijnaldum is one of a few whose future remains uncertain.
The former Newcastle man will be available to leave the club for free in 2021 and Liverpool are evaluating the various options including a potential sale at the end of the current campaign, according to the Athletic.
It is reported the Merseyside club are still looking into devising a fresh and lucrative deal for the Dutchman, but would also be happy to retain his services for another 18months before his current deal expires.
