Jurgen Klopp urged Darwin Nunez to stay patient as he revealed he had a lengthy meeting with Liverpool’s record signing to put his mind at ease.
Nunez, an £85million summer arrival from Benfica, has not started a match since the Merseyside derby on September 3 and the last goal he scored was on the opening day at Fulham.
The 22-year-old, one of the most wanted strikers in Europe during the summer window, could start against Rangers tonight and Klopp is adamant his best form will show eventually.
‘Darwin is good,’ said Klopp. ‘He’s still adapting. New players come in and everybody talks about them and wants them to shine immediately; that happens from time to time and sometimes not.
