Liverpool stunned champions-elect Manchester City with three first-half goals to take total control of their Champions League quarter-final.
Pep Guardiola’s side never got off the damaged team bus and Mohamed Salah punished them in the 12th minute when Kyle Walker failed to clear his lines.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain doubled the lead with a sensational strike from 25-yards just eight minutes later and City’s misery was complete when Sadio Mane headed in Salah's perect cross from point-blank range.
There were defensive failings in all three goals, but the credit must surely go to Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool, whose speed and intensity in attack was simply staggering.
