LISTEN: ‘There are NO world-class stars in the England squad’ - Graeme Souness on England v Scotland

Graeme Souness has told talkSPORT the current England and Scotland squads are the worst in the history of the famous fixture.

Friday’s Wembley clash represents the latest meeting in the longest-running rivalry in football, with the nations competing in the first official international match in 1872 in Glasgow.

There have been 112 official games between England and Scotland, with the most recent a 3-1 Three Lions win at Celtic Park.

But Souness believes the upcoming World Cup qualifier will lack any world class stars – something rare for an England team.

Speaking to talkSPORT’s Jim White, the former Scotland and Liverpool star said: “Ask yourself one question - historically England have always had two, three, sometimes even more, players who could get in any team in the world.
