Liverpool U23s ended the 2020-21 Premier League 2 campaign in style after a 2-0 win at Leicester City on Monday night.
All the goals came in the second half with captain Ben Woodburn netting the opener, and U18s winger Kaide Gordon firing a late effort on his U23s debut.
After drawing 2-2 with Leicester City in Kirkby last week, Barry Lewtas’ charges produced an excellent display in the Premier League 2 return fixture, at the Foxes training centre in Seagrave.
The Reds were unfortunate not to break the deadlock after eight minutes when Leighton Clarkson was denied at point-blank range by a brilliant save from Jakub Stolarczyk.
