The funds were raised at the abseil event at Liverpool Cathedral on July 31. Twenty abseilers descended down the cathedral’s 150ft-high entrance, including Matt Parish, LFC Foundation’s chief executive, and Foundation and club staff.
The fundraiser was also supported by the Liverpool branch of the Institute of Directors and Northern Power Women, including CEO Simone Roach MBE, who has also recently joined the Foundation’s Advisory Board.
The funds will be used to support the amazing work of the Owen McVeigh Foundation, which supports children and families across Merseyside who are battling cancer.
In 2019, LFC Foundation also donated £36,000 to refurbish Peacock Lodge, a special respite facility for families to make special memories together.
