Kenny Dalglish reveals he was scared by the famous 'This Is Anfield' sign ahead of his Liverpool debut

Kenny Dalglish has revealed he was filled with fear when he first looked at the fabled 'This Is Anfield' sign before making his home debut as a Liverpool player.

Dalglish was signed by Bob Paisley from Celtic in 1977 to replace Kevin Keegan and made his league debut against Newcastle.

'There was a boy called Tommy Craig, who was the first £100,000 teenager, who I had grown up with,' Dalglish explained. 'He actually never grew up much – he was only about 3ft2!
