Jürgen Klopp has conveyed his and Liverpool FC’s continuing support for the Hillsborough families following the verdict in the retrial.
David Duckenfield, the match commander on the day of the disaster, was found not guilty of gross negligence manslaughter at Preston Crown Court on Thursday.
On Friday, Klopp said: “The most important thing is, and we are again at a point where it’s so important to find the right words and you realise again that I am not a native [speaker], but what I can say is our thoughts and our love is with the families and we are there for them because I can imagine it’s a big disappointment there, big frustration, and sadness of course that this looks like the final verdict.
