Jurgen Klopp has apologised to Chris Hughton for what he has called a 'misunderstanding' after Liverpool's thumping win at Brighton.
Hughton was caught on camera on Saturday afternoon speaking tersely and shaking his head at the end of Liverpool's 5-1 win, as Klopp held out a hand and looked bewildered at the way Brighton's manager had reacted. It was a flashpoint at odds with anything that had gone before.
Klopp, whose side face Spartak Moscow on Wednesday in a game they must win to reach the Champions League knockout stage, insisted the last thing he wanted to do was fall out with Hughton and moved to clarify what had actually gone on between the pair.
