Jurgen Klopp said he 'fell in love' with Darwin Nunez when he watched the Uruguayan forward play against Liverpool in their Champions League quarter-final against Benfica last season.
Nunez sealed a move to Anfield in June after Liverpool paid an initial fee of £64million up front. However, his fee could rise as high as £85m, which would eclipse by £10m the sum they paid Southampton for centre-back Virgil van Dijk.
Klopp has since revealed it was Nunez's performance against Liverpool in the Champions League - where he scored scored home and away - that convinced him to part ways with such a large sum of money.
