Jordan Henderson is finally becoming the player Liverpool and England need

It's taken some time, but Jordan Henderson is finally coming of age. At the age of 26 he is already Liverpool captain and is likely to take the armband for England. It reflects his growing influence on the pitch and his development as a player. Indeed, he's now thriving under Jurgen Klopp; the Liverpool manager's high-paced, pressing tactics perfectly suited to Henderson's style of play.

Yet it was not always like this. When he arrived at Anfield from Sunderland in the summer of 2011, in a deal worth around £20 million, not everyone was convinced that manager Kenny Dalglish had used the money wisely.
