The Norwegian defender came out of retirement briefly to play for Indian Super League club Chennaiyin FC in August but he’s now looking towards the next chapter of his career.
Liverpool Academy director Alex Inglethorpe has offered the 2005 Champions League winner the chance to spend some time at Kirkby working with the club’s youngsters and he’s relishing the opportunity.

"Going to be at the Liverpool Academy while taking my coaching badges. Exciting! Learning from all the great coaches.
"Once a month I will be there and working with great coaches and players.
