Jarod Bowen's foot injury 'is worse than first feared' and the West Ham forward faces 'a race against time to be fit for the Europa League quarter-final clash with Lyon'

West Ham have been dealt with a major blow with Jarod Bowen's foot injury reportedly worse than first feared.

The 25-year-old sustained the injury during the Hammers' 1-0 loss to Liverpool over a fortnight ago and he has been out since.

West Ham had hoped Bowen would return soon after releasing a statement which stated he did not suffer 'significant damage'.

But according to The Athletic, Bowen now faces 'a race against time' to be available for the quarter-final clash against Lyon due to a fractured bone in his foot.
