Jamie Carragher claims Chelsea were 'fortunate' not to concede a second penalty after Robert Sanchez collided with Curtis Jones - as he insists Blues keeper did not 'get enough of the ball' despite VAR overturning the decision

Jamie Carragher believes Chelsea were fortunate to not concede a second penalty against Liverpool.

Arne Slot's side took the lead from Mohamed Salah's spotkick just before the half hour mark after Levi Colwill brought down Curtis Jones.

Jones was involved in yet another incident when he went down following a collision with Blues goalkeeper Robert Sanchez in first half additional time.

Referee John Brooks immediately pointed to the spot to hand Liverpool an opportunity to double their lead.

However, the official was sent for an onscreen VAR review and overturned his decision after deeming Sanchez had made contact with the ball before making contact

Former Reds defender Carragher said on Sky Sports: 'I think Chelsea are fortunate.
