The Home Office has been slammed for making 'wrong, lazy decisions' after rejecting asylum claims of at least 11 Hong Kong dissidents fleeing persecution.
Campaigners said applications were rejected for 'ridiculous reasons' and accused officers of not understanding the situation in Hong Kong.
Upon receiving his rejection letter, one 20-year-old asylum seeker was so terrified he would be sent back to Hong Kong and arrested that he attempted suicide.
Two of the asylum seekers, who spoke exclusively to the Daily Mail, were left 'dumbstruck' by the decison to deny their applications.
