Danny Murphy revealed a touching story about Gerard Houllier's generosity when the French manager gave him his medal when Murphy didn't get one for winning the League Cup in 2001.
It was announced on Monday that former Liverpool boss Houllier passed away at the age of 73 three weeks after having heart surgery in Paris.
Tributes have poured in, particularly from the Liverpool community, to remember Houllier's life and Murphy described a story where he remembered the Frenchman's selflessness after the Reds beat Birmingham at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff.
