Manchester United captain Harry Maguire and Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold are set to miss England's World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Hungary because of injuries.
Centre-back Maguire is facing a "few weeks" out with a calf injury, says United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
He will be absent for Wednesday's Champions League match against Villarreal after limping off in the Premier League defeat by Aston Villa.
Alexander-Arnold has a groin issue.
The Liverpool right-back did not travel to Porto for their 5-1 victory in the Champions League on Tuesday and is expected to miss the Premier League match against rivals Manchester City on Sunday.
