Graeme Souness has revealed he had to undergo emergency heart surgery after having an 'episode' while watching England's recent UEFA Nations League win over Finland on September 10.
The Liverpool legend has had a history of heart problems since retiring from playing in 1991 and was diagnosed with coronary heart disease at the age of just 38.
Souness has also previously undergone a triple heart bypass, but continues to be an ever-present and enthusiastic figure as a pundit and charity fundraiser.
The 71-year-old is one of the Premier League's most popular pundits with his column in Mail Sport offering expert insight and also a favourite across several broadcasters where Souness is often asked for his verdict.
