Graeme Souness feels Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones are 'fighting for their futures' at Liverpool, as he urges the midfield pair to show Jurgen Klopp he 'doesn't need' to bring in 'expensive' reinforcements

Graeme Souness has urged Liverpool midfielders Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones to show Jurgen Klopp he 'doesn't need' to bring in 'expensive' reinforcements this summer.

After an injury-hit summer, Jones has finally managed a prolonged run in the first team in recent weeks and brought balance to the Liverpool midfield.

He has started each of Liverpool's last six, a run that has seen them win four and draw two, and scored the opener in the Reds' 4-3 victory over Tottenham on Sunday.

Elliott has also impressed this season despite a disappointing season for Klopp's side overall, playing 42 games across all competitions and scoring five goals.
