Fulham 1-1 Liverpool: Mohamed Salah's late penalty spares Reds' blushes but champions miss out on the chance to go top after Bobby Decordova-Reid's strike handed Scott Parker's superb hosts the lead

Liverpool missed out on the chance to move to the top of the Premier League after being forced to settle for a point against a resurgent Fulham.

Scott Parker's men impressed at Craven Cottage on Sunday evening - and even took a deserved lead through Bobby Decordova-Reid. The Fulham man was teed up on the right side of the penalty area and smashed a low effort across the returning Alisson.

The champions mounted sustained periods of pressure after the interval and were able to somewhat spare their blushes after earning a late penalty. Giorginio Wijnaldum's free-kick struck the arm of Aboubakar Kamara in the Fulham wall, and Mohamed Salah kept his cool to drive home the spot-kick.
