Former Premier League referee Mark Clattenburg once dubbed Jurgen Klopp a 'strange bloke' for trying to intimidate him before a game and said Liverpool boss 'never took losing well'

Former Premier League referee Mark Clattenburg once labelled Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp a 'strange bloke' after claiming that he attempted to intimidate him before a game.

Clattenburg officiated in the Premier League from 2004-2017 before leaving to take up an opportunity in Saudi Arabia.

Klopp is one of the most popular managers in world football but Clattenburg painted a different picture of the German behind the scenes.

Writing in his book The Whistle Blower, Clattenburg said: 'Klopp never took losing well. When he was winning he was happy, he was good fun.
