Former Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina turns down Paris Saint-Germain move in favour of Napoli stay

Former Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has snubbed a move to Paris Saint=Germain in order to renew his contract with Napoli, according to reports from Spain.

The 34-year-old, who enjoyed nine years at Anfield, has been a target for Premier League new-boys Newcastle as well as other top clubs from around Europe this summer.

PSG were also linked with a move for the ex-Redman but despite the French giants' advances, Reina has snubbed a move to Ligue 1 and opted to remain with Napoli.

Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis was said to have been upset by suggestions Reina had asked to leave the Italian club earlier in the window.
