Fill in the gaps: Neal, McDermott and nine other derby-day starters

When Bob Paisley named Phil Neal and Terry McDermott in his team to face Everton at Goodison Park on November 16 1974, the Reds boss - who, of course, also went on to enshrine his place in the club's history - surely could not have foreseen what was to come.

Between them, Neal and McDermott went on to make 979 appearances for Liverpool - winning a scarcely-believable combined medal haul of 12 league titles, seven European Cups, two UEFA Cups and six League Cups in the process.

Neal and McDermott were not the only iconic Liverpool names to play in the 0-0 derby stalemate that began their storied Reds careers.
