Fans react on Twitter as Mohamed Salah 'apologises' to Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte during Champions League thrashing

As Liverpool supporters witnessed their side thrash Manchester City on Wednesday, suggestions were made that Mohamed Salah even went to the extent of apologising to opposition defender Aymeric Laporte at half-time.

Reds fans watching at Anfield and from home would have revelled in their second successive win over the soon-to-be Premier League champions as Jurgen Klopp's men took one massive step towards the Champions League semi-finals.

Salah was one of three goalscorers at Anfield as Liverpool raced to a 3-0 half-time lead, scoring the first before Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sadio Mane swiftly followed, and it has been suggested he began to feel sorry for the Premier League leaders.
