Everton boss Sam Allardyce has brushed off Wayne Rooney's frustration at being substituted.
Rooney was taken off after just 57 minutes, replaced by Idrissa Gana Gueye, and appeared to react angrily to the change.
Asked for the reasons behind the switch, Allardyce said on Sky Sports: 'Legs, we needed more legs. Wayne, as talented as he is and as good as he is on the ball, we needed to get about the pitch a bit more.

'It's Everton-Liverpool, he's bound to be disappointed, but I make the decisions.
