Egypt 'optimistic' that Mohamed Salah will be fit for the 2018 World Cup after Liverpool star's Champions League final injury

The Egyptian national side have tweeted that they are "optimistic" Mohamed Salah's appearance at the 2018 World Cup won't be affected after he suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder in Liverpool's 3-1 Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.

The Premier League 'Player of the Year' went down after a tussle with Sergio Ramos which left him holding his left shoulder.

Despite attempting to play on, Salah quickly realised he was in too much pain and that his night was over. He was substituted on 31 minutes.

After the match, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp explained: "It is something with the shoulder and he would've played on if he could.
