Liverpool fans have been advised not to wear club colours or gather in the city centre as they 'may be targeted for theft, robbery, or assault' during their trip to Naples.
The Reds' match away at Napoli on Wednesday night is their first game in Europe since the Champions League final in Paris in which Liverpool fans outside were sprayed with tear gas as supporters with valid tickets struggled to get into the Stade de France.
Ahead of the trip to Italy, Liverpool FC Help, a club-affiliated Twitter account, produced a series of tweets offering advice to any fans travelling, which included eating and drinking in their hotels at all times.
