After a fine start to the season under Jurgen Klopp, the Reds have started 2017 in disappointing fashion.
They have won only one of seven games in January – against lowly Plymouth in the FA Cup – and have slipped to fourth in the Premier League.
Their latest setback came against Southampton in the second-leg of their EFL Cup semi-final on Wednesday, with the Saints winning 1-0 to seal their spot at Wembley.
