Chelsea are ramping up their pursuit of Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams and are ready to activate the midfielder's release clause.
The Blues are keen to add more midfield reinforcements ahead of the new season and are now willing to complete a deal by meeting the £20million relegation release clause included in his contract.
Adams only joined Leeds from RB Leipzig last summer and isn't keen on spending the season playing in the Championship following the club's relegation to English football's second-tier.
Mauricio Pochettino's side are prepared to formalise a deal for the 24-year-old American international and could look to bring him in before their opening Premier League clash against Liverpool.
