Champions League and Europa League 'set for World Cup-style finals tournament in August with one-legged quarter-finals, semi-finals and final all in same city... with Lisbon leading the race to host UEFA's season finale'

The Champions League and Europa League are set for dramatic finishes like never before, with UEFA plotting a World Cup style tournament to complete the 2019-20 campaign.

Lisbon, Frankfurt and Moscow are in the running to host the competitions, which will see one-legged ties to decide the victors.

The European competitions were paused back in March with Liverpool's 3-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid at Anfield the last tie before lockdown, with other last-16 ties still not complete.
