Burton 0-5 Liverpool: Divock Origi, Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino score in EFL Cup

Liverpool quickly put the disappointment of weekend defeat to Burnley behind them by waltzing into the third round of the EFL Cup.

Championship outfit Burton were put to the sword at the Pirelli Stadium, as goals from Divock Origi, Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge twice - in addition to a Tom Naylor own goal - sent Jurgen Klopp's men into the draw for the next stage of the competition.

This was as comfortable a victory as Klopp could have hoped for, though one he must have expected after naming a strong side to face the Brewers.
