Liverpool loanee Arthur Melo found himself in a situation alien to most Brazil internationals when made his third appearance in a Reds shirt last week.
While many of his colleagues prepared for the international break, Arthur cancelled his holiday in order to take to the field with Liverpool's U21s as the team began their Papa Johns Trophy campaign with a game against League Two strugglers Rochdale at the Crown Oil Arena.
Just two weeks after making his bow for the Merseyside club as a late substitute in Naples as Liverpool suffered a demoralising defeat to Napoli in the Champions League, Arthur walked out onto the pitch alongside a group comprised largely of teenagers without any first-team football experience.
